Welcome to the Ridiculousness of U.S. Election Coverage!
I will probably be posting a few short quick posts throughout the night, like this one.
How ridiculous is it that at 7:15 Eastern Time -
Kentucky, with just 11% reporting has been declared a win for John McCain
Vermont, which they haven't shown how many percent of precincts have reported, is being declared a win for Barack Obama
These people don't learn anything from the past. I mean come on 11%, that means 89% of the votes haven't been counted yet guys. Why don't we wait until about 50% or more, depending on how big a lead one or the other has in a state before we go saying they have won the state.
I am sure no matter who you support you can agree with me on this matter.

Well, I am all for them announcing stuff as they go. I just think they need to wait till at least a majority of the precincts have reported to call it. I do however agree it probably does discourage some west coast voters from even bothering to get out and vote.
Also to clarify - Vermont just now has 3% reporting. So they called it for Obama before even 3% of the votes were counted! lol ridiculous.
