Hi and welcome to Blogging In America!
The purpose of this Orble Blog site is to showcase all of the American bloggers on Orble. We know that when we first signed up for Orble, we just weren't sure if it was a good idea since the majority of its users and bloggers were from Australia. We see now that no matter where you are located, as long as you write interesting, fun, or informative articles, you will get readers. As a great sports movie once said, "If you build it, they will read it." OK, that isn't the exact quote, but it is the case with Orble blogs.
With that said, we do think if the bloggers from the United States had a central location to showcase just their posts, it would make it easier for people to find them. We also believe that it might encourage some Americans who are on the fence about whether or not to join Orble to go ahead and click to sign up.
We are not trying to "segregate" the Americans from the rest; we're just trying to make them easier to find for people looking specifically for them. This should also help with the search engine rankings. The site will always remain on Orble, and just like any other Orble site will have posts from everyone in the highlight columns on all the pages. All of your posts will be showcased by Orble as any other post would be. The only difference is, this site will work as an extra piece in the marketing puzzle for your blog.
What we will do for your blog:
We will add a link to your blog to the left side menu of the page. Once we have more than a handful of links on the list, we may sort them into topic categories. We will also list links to your articles in the main section of the page. To do this we may copy your title, cut and paste the first couple of lines of your article, and possibly copy the first image you use in your post. Readers will always have to click a link to get to your site to read your full article.
We will also choose random articles that we think readers will like and add them as "Spotlight Posts." The better your article, the more of a chance you will have of being selected as a Spotlight Post. Other ideas we plan to implement include a "Featured Blog of the Week," which will be prominently displayed at or near the top of the page, and a possible "Blogger Profile of the Week/Month." This profile will include a short interview with the blogger chosen for that week or month, which will include questions like "What is it about blogging that you like?" and other sorts of general background questions. This profile will of course include links to all your blogs. We have many more ideas like these that we haven't worked out all the details on yet.
We do reserve the right to turn down blogging sites we feel are objectionable. Sites we would consider objectionable are sites that contain or encourage adult content, hate speech, or any illegal activity.
