Snapping Up A Bargain
Looking again at ways you can save money on those grocery bills, I was reminded today of another great tip when I wandered into Waitrose. One of the guys was doing their daily reductions. Have you ever looked at all the dates on food packaging? Normally there are two or three different dates recorded: “Sell by”, “Best before” and “Use by”.
The “Sell by” date is a purely internal dating system used by the supermarket’s producers. It tells them when they should remove the pack from their shelves and is determined by the company’s procedures. In general, this date is very conservative because they don’t want people getting sick!
