Joe Vogler is the founder and long-time leader of the Alaskan Independence Party (AIP). Below I am also including two images from the AIP's web site.
Governor Sarah Palin's husband Todd Palin was a member of the AI Party for nearly seven years from 1995 - 2002. Sarah Palin attended the party's convention in 1994 with her husband, which led to him joining the party.
Although Sarah Palin NEVER joined the AIP she did return to their convention in 2006 to speak as candidate for governor. After winning the election to become governor she recorded a video greeting that was played at this year's AIP convention. Her message said, “Good luck on a successful and inspiring convention. Keep up the good work, and God bless you.”

A rather disturbing picture don't you think? They sell this poster on their web site to raise funds for the party.
This image according to them represents their relationship with the United States. That is a snake that is swallowing the state of Alaska. They sell this one on t-shirts.
Just one more quick note. Keep in mind that Sarah Palin is originally from the state of Idaho, another state that has spoken up about leaving the United States. Hmm, coincidence?
