Quote of the Day - November 1, 2008 - Some Quotes from a Special Guest
Today I present to you a few quotes from a famous person. I am not going to tell you who until after all the quotes. see if you can guess who has said all of these things. I think you might be surprised.
"Certainly in the short term, or even the long term, I would not support repeal of Roe v. Wade, which would then force X number of women in America to undergo illegal and dangerous operations."
"A few years ago I traveled to the area of Svalbard, Norway, a group of islands in the Arctic Ocean. I was shown the southernmost point where a glacier had reached 20 years earlier. From there, we had to venture northward up the fjord to see where that same glacier ends today – because all the rest has melted. On a trip to Alaska, I heard about a national park visitor’s center that was built to offer a picture-perfect view of a large glacier. Problem is, the glacier is gone. A work of nature that took ages to form had melted away in a matter of decades."
"Our nation has both an obligation and self-interest in facing head-on the serious environmental, economic and national security threat posed by global warming."
"I believe in evolution. But I also believe, when I hike the Grand Canyon and see it at sunset, that the hand of God is there also."
"It is perhaps my greatest hope, Mr. President, that some day we'll consider tax and spending measures with no one else in mind but future generations of American taxpayers. We're tying a millstone of debt around their necks, and it is a grave mistake."
"I’m going to be honest: I know a lot less about economics than I do about military and foreign policy issues. I still need to be educated."
"I am fully prepared to be commander in chief… I don’t need on-the-job training."
Thank you to the REPUBLICAN Senator from Arizona and REPUBLICAN Presidential candidate John Sidney McCain.
Those last two seem a bit contradictory, dontcha think?
Extremely strange comments coming from a Republican, dontcha think? I betcha Sarah Palin would be cringing reading most of these statements. Sadly they aren't in one of the millions of publications she reads every week.
When reached for comment, Joe the Plumber remarked, "That lying old ass. I should shove my snake right up his. . ." We stopped him there.
Disclaimer: Joe the Plumber NEVER said that. However, John Sidney McCain actually did say all of those things.
