Prince - A Guitar God, Here's a Little Proof
Recently I posted "Guitar Heroes – Do You Agree with the Ranking?". CherylJ and I discussed how Prince should have been ranked much higher than #72 on the list that I used in the post. I also listed a few guitarist from the Rolling Stone list that was released a while back. I went back and reviews that RS list, and Prince was totally shunned by Rolling Stone. They did not list them in their Top 100 Guitarists! I am shocked!
After looking around a little bit I found that the list came out a few weeks prior to Prince being inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Also on the inductee list that night was Rolling Stone founder Jann Wenner. The induction ceremony included a huge George Harrison tribute with many stars performing Harrison's "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" on stage together. The late Harrison was also being inducted that night, and it was a tribute to him.
Prince had a little bit of a solo during the tribute. I wonder if Wenner might have realized that Prince should have been on the list, and probably pretty high on it.
