People Magazine’s 2008 Sexiest Man Alive is Down Under
He can act, he can sing, he can dance. Most would say he could look hot in just about anything he puts on. Now he has the title to prove it. People Magazine has announced that Aussie Hugh Jackman is their 2008 Sexiest Man Alive. The star that is in the upcoming film, “Australia” which is set to be released November 26th becomes the 20th man to be named sexiest by the magazine. You can see the trailer for Australia by clicking here. He is also starring in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” set to be released May 1st, 2009.
In his interview with the magazine Jackman was asked what his wife’s response was when she found out – he said, “God bless her, she said, “I could have told then that years ago!” And then she said, “Obviously, Brad wasn’t available this year.” He responded to her, “That was a joke, right?”
You can see more excerpts from the interview at the People Magazine website. I believe the actual issue of the magazine might not come out until the 25th, but I could be wrong. The entire issue is dedicated to other sexy men of the world. It includes photos of many of them, including the men on the following list.
Daniel Craig, Jon Hamm, Zac Efron, Robert Buckley, Blair Underwood, Ed Westwick, Blake Shelton, Lang Lang, Marc-Paul Gosselaar, Javier Bardem, Robert Pattinson, Joshua Jackson, David Beckham
There is also a bit of an unusual feature on some of the pictures. They asked some of the men what their favorite smells were, and then recreated them as scratch-n-sniffs on the pages of the magazine. Michael Phelps is one of the men that has a scratch and sniff.
It is nice to see that former teen show stars like Mark-Paul Gosselaar from Saved by the Bell, more recently NYPD Blue, and the new hit show Raising the Bar, as well as Joshua Jackson formerly of Dawson’s Creek, and now on the new hit show Fringe on the list.
Perennial “Sexiest Men,” George Clooney and Brad Pitt who have both taken the title twice also have space in the issue.
