It's a Fine Day to be an American - Barack Obama is Projected to be the Next President

With the states of Calirfornia, Oregon, and Washington Barack Obama has received 284 electoral votes. He is now the projected winner and the new President Elect of the United States of America!

This country has come so far from being a nation that enslaved so many people, and to now today have an Afircan-American leader. It has been a long journey. It is one huge step toward all men being created equal.

As I write this they have declared more states. Barack Obama now has 297 to John McCain's 146. with very few states left to declare it is basically officially over.

This also just in Senator John McCain has called President Elect Barack Obama to concede and congratulate him.

Things are happening fast now - Obama 333 - McCain 146

Ladies and Gentleman of the world, I give you President Barack Obama!

I know I'm proud to be an American. Can't wait to see what all the extreme-conservatives have to say now.

Hi DeAnne,

I am currently watching McCain's concession speech. The second he mentioned Barack Obama's name his invitation only crowd began to boo. that should be a good indication. To his credit he motioned for them to stop. However, 3 or 4 sentences later they began to boo again.

I just read a post made right before this one where the first comment is "up yours liberal", amazing idiocy!

I am pretty sure there are some huge celebrations going on around the country tonight.

I am also sure that there are a group of people, call them Republicans, conservatives, Orblers that are now on 24 hour suicide watch for the coming months.

Hey Gene,

Congratulations! We (the rest of the world) were all secretly (and not so secretly) hoping Barack would win. I guess it's a bit early to tell if he is a modern day messiah (in a non-religious way of course), but still, I think he's going to give it his best effort... which has got to be an improvement tenfold over George right?

Happy Elections Day!

Well even McCain would have been an improvement over Bush. Now the Democrats have two years to fix things since they have a majority everywhere. Obama needs to pick his cabinets and appointees well. I hear Sarah Palin is in the running for Fashion Secretary.

You can forget the suicide watch the dems will kill us before we can do anything, enjoy the happiness now, because it won't last long, reality will set in, and you will realize what mistake this country has made.

Get ready for that crisis it's coming I hope you don't live anywhere near where the terrorist attack.

Lester,

I really just don't know what to say to you. Mainly because I know no matter what I say you will simply blow it off and go shove you head back up your. . . favorite Fox News like channel or web site and drool over more lies written that SL can then turn around and gleefully write about and link to and then have no answer when things are clearly disputed with actual sources and stuff (imagine that, using real sources.)

Sadly the impending attack will most likely be on President Elect Barack Hussein Obama's life. An attack made by someone who shares your views, or just a flat out racist who will try it only due to the color of his skin. We can only hope the attempt will fail, and not take away a man who could do great things before he has a chance to get them all done.

shame how John McCain can be humbled and realize the crap he did to get this far was ridiculous but yet the idiots that followed the lies and in some case perpetuated them on their own can't get over it and realize that the majority of the country has spoken and voted a black democrat into the Oval Office, and pushed the majorities in the House and Senate even further in favor of the Democrats. Just sit back and say thank you when the economy is fixed, new jobs are made, and :: gasp :: Americans get healthier cause they can actually go to a doctor.

OK, I have spent enough time on you. time for me to do something productive.

Hi alt,

Sadly you need to start with a much higher number, 99 is wayyyy too low. Maybe 25,000,000 - 45,000,000. Now that's a long song! Maybe knock down about 1/4 to 1/2 a million at a time.

If you want to do something productive then pull your head of of the dems well you.... and start paying attention to something other than liberal lies.

The attack coming will not be on Obama, but on the poor fools that voted for Obama. I pity the fools.

Oh, I see, so the attack will only be on
the poor fools that voted for Obama
. So this will be similar to the apocalypse where only the Republicans that voted for McCain will be spared? Now is this THE actual apocalypse, or will this be a separate apocalypse?

So, I am assuming since in your mind and the minds of many like you Obama is a Muslim - does this mean that the Obama supporters that will be attacked in this sort of "apocalypse" will recieve their 72 virgins in Allah heaven? (Notice I point out Allah heaven - because we all know there is a different heaven for each group of people - segregation at its best!)

You know Gene, the only thing Obama's win proves is that Allah is in fact the stronger God. I mean, all the Republicans go on and on about Jesus and the big G man, but looks like it's Allah's turn to rule the delusional haha

"Allahu Akbar."

Not all of us right wingers are on a suicide watch, I believe in majority votes no matter who gets elected. I am more angry about Black Panther’s with Billy Clubs standing outside the polls (and lack of media coverage about it) than Obama winning.

Some Liberals are still crying about Bush cheating to get elected. Didn’t appear to do them any good so I won’t do it now.

I also believe in free speech so by all means continue gloating and baiting the conservatives. I think it is time to try to pull the country back together myself. And remember by the popular vote Obama didn’t really win by all that much.

That is a lot of fellow American Citizens that are really concerned about our Country and what they consider to be the trials of a very liberal President. It is hitting some of us close to home as I for one am going to probably lose my job, due to expected tax increases. I am safe until Christmas but it is up for grabs after that. But I will find another job sooner or later. Let’s work on fixing the country and stop all the bickering.

Hi Randy,

Yes, I know you are a bit different than most just by reading your post earlier. I do agree that the Black Panther thing was ridiculous. I also notice unlike many others you are not claiming that Obama had anything to do with it. I mean yes it shouldn't have happened, but it is even more ridiculous to think the campaign had anything to do with it at all.

I don't feel the post in anyway gloated or baited anyone. it was just a "Woohoo" sort of post.
I am only pointing this out because you said Obama didn't win the popular vote by very much - - Bush didn't win the popular vote AT ALL against Gore.

Might I ask what you do for a living? So I can respond more informed to your last comment about losing your job due to the tax plan.

I had no problem with your post, there was nothing wrong with it at all. I took offense to the comment that was made about the suicide watch that was gloating and baiting.

No, that was a joke. A joke which fed into many people's view that the world would end the day after the election if Obama won. I am sorry if it had offended you. I didn't mean to offend anyone. Although I must say seeing some of your comments going back and forth with S.L. I am amazed you can comment that my comments are offending.

You are right I have been pretty hard on Barack, but this was so soon after a heated election that many felt so strong about, I also am sorry for my comment, I don't won't to offend either.
