I love looking at waterfalls. This one looks stunning. Parker's use of light once again makes it even better.

Image of the Day - November 17, 2008 - Lavender Swirl, Lower Antelope Canyon - Navajo Reservation, Arizona by Kenneth Parker

I have always loved the look of the Southwest United States, things like the Grand Canyon, Painted Desert, Petrified Forest. This photograph captures that look perfectly, actually better than perfectly. Parker captures the lines amazingly, again using the lighting incredibly.

Image of the Day - November 14, 2008 - Anisakan Falls - Near Pyin U Lwin, Myanmar (Burma) by Kenneth Parker

Today's image is a waterfall in Myanmar. I am amazed by this image. It looks as if it is sugar being poured over the edge. I am including the information for the exhibit below again, which I will do until we are finished showcasing Parker's photographs.

Image of the Day - November 8, 2008 - Arrowhead Pool, Seep and Cottonwood by Kenneth Parker

I had some computer issues that left me without an internet connection for about a day and a half which made me miss posting an image for the seventh. Today i will be posting two images. One now and one later in the day. As you will see by these two images I really like the use of reflections in photographs.

Image of the Day - November 6, 2008 - Chortens over Kali Gandaki River, Tangbe - Mustang, Tibetan Plateau by Kenneth Parker

This one looks like a built scenery it is so very perfect. I absolutely love what I am going to call the leopard hills (due to the spots all over). I would actually like to see a wider shot of this exact area, especially going upward. It looks like there is a much bigger mountain sitting right there in the background.

The lighting on this one again is amazing. Some visual things are just to hard to explain why you like them - you just like them. This image for me is just that.

Image of the Day - November 3, 2008 - Salt Pan Terraces - Salineras de Maras, Peru by Kenneth Parker

There is such an incredible use of light in this image that if you look at it one way (at least to me) it looks like it could be a rock wall with stained glass panels. Regardless of what you see or I see I just think it is an amazing photograph.

For the next couple of weeks I have the pleasure of sharing some incredible images from an amazing photographer. He has had photos appear in many magazines (View Camera, Communication Arts, Oceans, Geo, Time, Natural History, Smithsonian, and Pacific Discovery), and books (Glacier Bay, and Icy Wilderness). His work also appears in many galleries around the country which are listed below. He also has images gracing the halls of places like the Smithsonian Institute. (Also listed below)

He has agreed to take a major step down from all those wonderful achievements and allow me to use his images for my Image of the Day feature here on Blogging In America.

Image of the Day - November 1, 2008 - Racism

Baby ducks on a curb.
Little Yellow Duck says, 'Don't look down on me just because of the color of my feathers!' One of the other ducks reply, 'We are only looking down on you because, well, you are down there!'
