Giant stingrays

South Eastern Asia must be a haven for big, exotic fish. Not only are giant catfish found, scientist have even found giant sting rays.

Giant stingrays are similar in appearance to rays you usually find and have brownish tint. The biggest difference is that they live up to their name and grow to over 16 feet long which comes out to around 5 meters and weigh well over 1,300 pounds or 600 kilos! Many people know the stingray has a stinging barb on its tail. On the giant stingray, this barb can be 15 inches long. That works out to around 38 centimeters!
