Calling All Bald People! Earn $660 U.S. Dollars
Actually, you don’t need to be bald, you can shave your head too if you have hair. New Zealand’s national airline is looking to hire 70 people for their new ad campaign.
Air New Zealand is paying $1,000 NZ (about $660 US) to those willing to have a temporary tattoo placed on the back of their heads. The tattoos will display details on a new system that they hope will reduce check-in waiting times.
Once the tattoos are applied they would fade or wash off after about two weeks according to Air New Zealand’s marketing manager Steve Bayliss. He described the campaign as “a bit of fun.” Those chosen to wear the tattoos will simply have to stand in lines at three different airports for the rest of the passengers to see.
Bayliss said, “It’s a . . . tattoo on the back of someone’s head, so they have to have their head shaved or be bald already.” He went on to say, “It will be an advantage for them to be bald already.”
This is actually one of the more tame advertising on your body stories that I have seen. I remember in the past seeing people selling ads on all of the following parts: forehead, pregnant (also non-pregnant) stomach, back, arms, and even a woman’s cleavage area. Most of those stories are accompanied by some sort of auction on eBay or a similar site selling to the highest bidder for X amount of time. Most of those stories usually pay a whole lot better too. Granted some of them are permanent tattoos, so the higher prices are warranted.
I don’t know about you, but I would shave my head to get paid $660 every two weeks just to roam around in airports. I think I would need a longer commitment though. Say a contract for three months or so. This way I could just keep it shaved for the whole time and be guaranteed close to $4,000. I might want a meal allowance too. Airports sometimes have good food and snacks in them. At least I would be working through my meal breaks though.
